December 2002 Log

I have reorganized several sections of wyrde.com and moved them to the About Ryan section. Things like my Dictator of the World List, views on Religion, and Approval List. I'll also be expanding on that section in the near future to better explain myself and my ideas on the world. It seems some people have been getting ideas about my views that are quite wrong, so I'll try to explain myself in terms they can more easily understand.

Cassie is flying up to Buffalo tonight and I will pick her up and bring her back here. So I will most likely not be online or updating this page much for a while. Now if only I didn't have a Royal Metric Fuck-Ton of work to do while she is here...

The first two sentences out of my instructor's mouth for Network Programming were "Hi, I'm Pete Lutz. This is Network Programming, the class everyone fears worse than death." I think Professor Lutz and I will get along nicely. The class is supposed to be quite hard but I am particularly good with protocols (network, cryptographic, and otherwise) so it should be fun. Computer Crime is destined to be a difficult class with a TON of work, but it should be interesting as well. It is a 4 hours class on Monday night and is taught by a tag-team of law enforcement agents. One is a detective and head of the Computer Crime division for western New York. The other is the former US InforSec Officer. The US guy looks and acts like an FBI agent, the NY guy looks like a cop, complete with mustache, short hair, and clothes. Definately a lot to learn from them, and about them. My Needs Assesment class is a "soft skills" class, which means it is a BS, touchy-feely, required class. Blah. I don't anticipate it being a problem though. Billiards is going well and should be a fun class. RIT requires 2 "Activity" classes, and billiards looked like a good pick for someone as uncoordinated as I. Advanced Routing and Switching will also be a lot of work, but it is interesting and the professor is quite good.

I am back in Rochester and have completed the first week of classes for the winter quarter. All of my classes will be very interesting, and most of them should be a lot of work - we'll see how this goes.

I have also added the Rocky Horror 2002 pictures (finally) and some miscellaneous pictures from the last couple months.
