/bfg on the server is now 432GB. Space is a good thing.
Ab-so-fucking-lutely un-be-fucking-lievable. I got a B in Fine Arts:Music. In no uncertain terms that class kicked my ass this quarter. I was expecting a D, with a C if I was lucky. I am pleased. I also got an A in SysAdmin and Experimental Psych. I shall have to celebrate.
Yesterday morning Andrew (who will replace Kim in September) and his parents dropped by. They did so about 9am. Needless to say, I was wearing only silk boxers and snow boots. So they were quite surprised when Steve opened the door. They gave me about $200 and then left. I think I like them.
Mail should be working correctly now. I'll be doing more testing this weekend. The server is in need of harddrive space, 350GB just isn't enough. So I'll probably be picking up another drive this weekend as well. The router will be getting a SAR so that it will be happy over the summer. Hopefully everything will de done by Tuesday evening and I'll leave for Louisville on Wednesday.
I've updated some things on this site and made the HTML validate as 4.01 Transitional. I added a House section. Which is only accessable from the network here or via a login. It just has information about the network and some diagrams. So nothing terribly exciting. There is also a Things and Stuff section. It contains Things and Stuff (surprise!) that would not fit elsewhere on the site - like information on Proper Oatmeal Preparartion.
I am currently doing battle with Exim. Mail servers are a pain in the ass when they have to work for 5 domains and are behind NAT. I'll be doing a lot of server and router work in the next few days, so don't expect the site to be up 24/7.
Sir Steve got lmsensors working on the server, so perhaps that'll give me some info as to why it is being insolent. Frink.
The server decided to start beeping again. Again, no problem was found with it. I hate computers.
Supertramp is good. Listen to them.
I got tired of the spagetti e-mail mess that I've been dealing with for the last few years. I have 19 e-mail addresses total, many of which forwarded to other addresses, or were aliases to addresses. Now everything forwards to ryan@wyrde.com, rhatch@palm.net, or rhatch@fastsoft.com. For normal e-mail use ryan@wyrde.com, for work/FAST related use rhatch@fastsoft.com, and to contact me when I'm on a trip/vacation use rhatch@palm.net. The old addresses gunther@win.net and van-gogh@iname.com are officially retired. I will still receive mail from them, but the iname.com account will be checked very rarely.
Well, the server sounded its alarm about 3:35pm today. The alarm goes off when there is a fan failure or the machine is overheating. Melissa was kind anough to inform me of it. I shut it down and took a look, but found no problems. I gave it a proper cleaning and did some maintainance. All is back up now and seems to be fine.
I'm worth $2,472,010.00.
The area code here in Rochester is changing. So, from now on you should dial 585 instead of 716 if you are calling someone here (like me).
In the words of Sir Steve, "Oh, my, bloody, word!" Here is an article about large churches. It specifically mentions the one by my house in Louisville, Southeast Christian Church. The church is truly massive and is made of several octagonal buildings linked together. Thanks to Sir Graham for sending it to me.
Looks like RIT's mail server has stopped working again. Damn RIT! So if you want to send me e-mail you should send it to rph7945@it.rit.edu or ryan@wyrde.com.
Here is my schedule for Fall Quarter so far. 3 IT Courses, 2 LABs, and a History course. This should fry me in no time. I wanted to take Psychology of Personality but it is restricted to Psych Majors until the 1st of September. Maybe I'll switch it in for HCI2 then.

Blah. I have a definate A in Experimental Psychology. And a definate not-A in Internetworking II. This will be my first B (or possibly lower) in any Math/Science/Tech class at RIT. Frink. I was up for 25 hours, slept for 21 hours, and have now been up for another 26 hours. I think sleep is in my near future.
Not really sure why, but I like some of these.
From Memepool: Battleground God I got a perfect score. :) Oh, and I want a ziggurat.
