White Water 2004

These pictures were taken in North Carolina and Tennessee in August of 2004 on a white water rafting trip. I did not get any pictures of us actually rafting since the camera would have been destroyed by the water and rocks. Some of us almost were.

The sun setting over the Smoky Mountains.

It was a beautiful (albeit long) drive to North Carolina.

The roads were like spaghetti.

4971 feet high. Just short of a mile.

The pictures do not do it justice.

Especially from a moving car in low light.

The Ocoee lake, where we stayed the second night.

Slightly sunburned.

The small white spec on the mountain was a part of the gravel road we had been on for an hour.

Kyle and Brian await a decision for where to search for an open campsite.

The dust from the gravel road stuck to the oil from my hand-print on the car earlier.

And Carolyn's as well.

Carolyn.

Scott and Sara.

A hang-glider with a propeller flew overhead.

A bus taking rafts up to the top of the Ocoee.

Webs from something I do not wish to encounter.

Carolyn relaxes in the car while we wait for others to return from campsite hunting.

Scott and Brian play Frisbee.

Man builds shelter.

Carolyn, sun burnt and ready for bed.

Reading the instructions - shame.

After her nap, Carolyn grads some dinner.

A fire was built to keep warm.

A wine bottle camouflaged by a used sock.

Blends in perfectly with the ... gravel!

Evil Smores.

The fire smoldering in the morning.

The lake is very peaceful before 7am.

One of our guides Jeff, who took us funyaking down the Ocoee.

The boats we used.

DK and Jen were our other guides.

Highly sunburned.
